Reports and collaboration projects

We provide support to studies and initiatives in favour of mitigating the impact of climate change and atmospheric pollution.

On one side, we collaborate in studies on current and future environmental problems:

  • Report on the status of CO2 emissions in the world

The Annual report on the status of CO2 emissions in the world, headed by Fundación Empresa y Clima, is an exhaustive analysis of the data on greenhouse gas emissions in Spain, Europe and world macrozones. With this report, Fundación Empresa y Clima renews the commitment to all business sectors, administrations and society in general.

  • Report on climate change in Catalonia

The Report on climate change in Catalonia, promoted by the Consell Assessor per al Desenvolupament Sostenible, (Sustainable Development Advisory Board) the Oficina Catalana del Canvi Climàtic (Catalan Office for Climate Change), the Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya (Meteorological Service of Catalonia) and the Institut d’Estudis Catalans (Institute for Catalan Studies) seeks to analyse the status of the climate and its recent and future evolution in Catalonia, from the standpoint of both the scientific bases and in relation to the diverse natural subsystems and socio-economic sectors.

Approximately 130 authors, all of them scientists and technical experts, participate in this 24-chapter report, with contributions from nearly 40 scientific reviewers.

On the other, we participate in initiatives in favour of conserving the environment:

  • Participation in the «Earth Hour»

In accordance with its commitment to raising awareness about climate change, ”la Caixa” Foundation joins each year in the Earth Hour initiative, an international event promoted by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) held on the last Saturday of March each year.

During this initiative, all the lights of our social and cultural centres are switched off.

  • Participation in projects to offset carbon footprint

At ”la Caixa” Foundation we share the concern generated by the impact of anthropogenic activities on the functioning of the biosphere. For this reason, since 2011 we have promoted a carbon management strategy that includes calculating and offsetting our carbon footprint. In addition, we offset the unavoidable greenhouse gas emissions in our activity by participating in high-quality emission reduction projects in the voluntary carbon market, which are certified according to international standards.
