Scientist Summer Camp

Seven days to enjoy science, introducing students to the work carried out by professional researchers.


    The Scientist Summer Camps [in Spanish only] are seven-day camps that give young people from all over Spain the chance to take part in scientific projects designed by university lecturers and carried out at the research departments of 16 Campuses of International and Regional Excellence

    These projects are related to areas as diverse as physics, oceanography, biology, engineering, robotics and astronomy.

    The Scientist Summer Camps are an initiative by the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport with the support of the "la Caixa" Foundation.


    Students in 4th year secondary education or 1st year Baccalaureate, taking the specialty of Science and Technology within the Spanish educational system. 


    The Scientist Summer Camp is committed to encouraging scientific vocations among the young. Participants have a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the daily work of researchers in a multicultural university setting which will help them to define what they want to study in the future. Participants can also enjoy complementary activities related to science, culture and leisure.
