Pamplona Planetarium

The "la Caixa" Foundation provides 350,000 euros every year to support the educational work carried out by Pamplona Planetarium and promote knowledge and culture in general through astronomy.

In collaboration with the Education Department of the government of Navarra, the "la Caixa" Foundation promotes, together with the Caja Navarra Foundation, one of the most emblematic activities carried out at Pamplona Planetarium, the "School of Stars" programme.

The main aim of this programme is to complement and develop school curricula, from infant education through to the Baccalaureate. It consists of a set of educational resources to combine learning with fun, using the sky as its motivator. The School of Stars, which began in 1993, uses Astronomy as a central theme to introduce pupils to other disciplines such as History, Literature, Plastic Arts, Mathematics, Science, Mythology, Philosophy and even foreign languages.
