Art is clearly a driver of change and improvement in society. "la Caixa" Art for Change sets out to help to run art projects involving active participation by people in situations of vulnerability in order to give them a voice, equal conditions and opportunities and make them visible in society through participation in a creative process.
  • KEY DATES

    The period for presenting the form for the project starts on 2 May 2017 and ends on 29 May 2017.

    The deadline for presenting complementary documentation via the internet is 5 June 2017.

  • AREAS OF ACTION

    1. Promotion of activities related to the plastic arts, photography, music, literature and stage arts as a resource for personal development and social inclusion.

    2. Encouraging the active role of participating groups and professionals from the world of culture in activities of a social nature.

Register and certifications

  • To present a project, the applicant organisation needs to certify its eligibility on the applications website, where it will be given an access code (username and password).

    Any organisations already certified need to verify and validate the registration documentation contained in the application.

    Uncertified organisations must have existed for at least one year; for organisations resulting from mergers, at least one of them must have existed for this period of time. 

    To become certified you need to complete all the fields requested and enclose the following scanned documentation:

    • Documentation required from the organisation:

    1. Organisation's tax code (CIF) card.

    2. Record in the corresponding register. When a branch is presented, both the organisation and the branch must be entered in the corresponding register.

    3. Articles of Association.

    4. Document certifying the person representing the organisation is entitled to manage projects (model available in the application).

    5. Tax code (NIF) of the person in the organisation responsible for managing the project.

    • Documentation required from the artist:

    1. NIF (Spaniards), NIE or resident permit (foreign residents in Spain) or passport (residents abroad).

     

Project presentation

Projects are presented via the applications website for the call for applications using the username and password obtained during certification. No physical documentation will be accepted.

To present a project correctly all the data fields in the different tabs of the website application must be completed and the project presentation form provided by the application must be enclosed, as well as any complementary documentation.

  • COMPLEMENTARY DOCUMENTATION

    To present the project during the call for applications, the organisation or artist needs to enclose the following documentation with the application:

     

    a) Cultural organisations:

    1. Certificate validating data (available in the application).

    2. Agreement from the Board of Directors or Board of Trustees or the governing body of the organisation approving the presentation of the application.

    3. Certificate from the legal representative of the organisation stating the name and NIF of each of the members of the Board of Directors, Board of Trustees or governing body of the applicant organisation

    4. In the case that two or more organisations present a joint project, the collaboration agreement between the organisations specifying which organisation will manage the grant.

    5. Report on the activities carried out over the last two years.

    6. Balance sheet and income statement of the last two financial years signed by the organisation's legal representative.

    7. Statement by the organisation's legal representative with the commitment to provide, directly or through third parties, 25% of the final budget for the project.

    8. Copy, if necessary, of the decision(s) to contribute the rest of the project's funding, or a copy of the application should this be pending a decision.

    9. Certificate from the Tax Authorities certifying that the organisation is up-to-date with its tax obligations.

    10. Certificate from Social Security certifying that the organisation is up-to-date with its labour obligations.

    11. An example of the artistic work carried out by the cultural organisation. This material will be used exclusively to evaluate the artistic quality of the work carried out by the applicant organisation. The example of the artistic work (photographs, videos and/or audio recordings) must be sent in digital format via the new "Calls for Applications" website, following the instructions given.

     

    The following documentation will also be appreciated in the case of organisations:

    1. Letter from the local government endorsing the project.

    2. Certificate of audited accounts.

    3. Certificate of collaboration with the public administration in employment programmes of benefit to the community.

     

    b) Artists:

    1. Certificate validating data (available in the application).

    2. Report on activities over the last two years.

    3. Copy of the decision(s) to contribute the rest of the project's funding, or a copy of the application should this be pending a decision.

    4. Statement by the artist responsible for the project with the commitment to provide, directly or via third parties, 25% of the final budget for the project.

    5. CV(s) of the artist or artists organising the activity or taking part in it.

    6. An example of the artistic work carried out by the artist(s). This material will be used exclusively to evaluate the artistic quality of the work carried out by the applicant artist(s). The example of the artistic work (photographs, videos and/or audio recordings) must be sent in digital format via the new "Calls for Applications" website, following the instructions given.

     

    Any projects presented by an organisation or artist that do not enclose an example of the artistic work carried out will be excluded from the call for applications.
