Jardins de Cap Roig

The Cap Roig gardens, located between the towns of Palafrugell and Mont-ras, in the Baix Empordà region near Girona, are a truly unique spot on the Mediterranean. Spanning 17 hectares, the gardens are home to around 1,000 botanical species.

If you want to know how to get to the Cap Roig gardens or if you want to know the route to follow to see every last corner of this one-of-a-kind space, you can download the garden guide (PDF, 3,42 MB).

ART, ARCHITECTURE, GARDEN AND LANDSCAPE

The main elements are the ancient settlement, the castle and the towers.

All of these are points along the 22-stop route, on which you can find different types of plant, arboretum, fruticetum, palmetum, cactarium, a wide range of annual and perennial herbaceous plants. Along the way you’ll also find a picnic area, terraces for taking in the marvellous views, pathways that will surprise you, a reading area where you can relax and enjoy the sound of the water flowing from the fountains, and colours and textures that will awaken your senses.

We run activities for schools, families, tour groups and other kinds of groups, as well as guided tours, both year-round and seasonal. Download the information programme.

The space also includes a sculpture collection along the same route, with works by renowned national and international artists.

Over the summer, there is the Cap Roig Festival, an event that brings together top national and international artists from the music world. What’s more, there is another programme that is open to different types of visitors.
