  • GOALS

    • Improve the rice cultivation and sale techniques of the region's 4,800 producers.

    • Increase family incomes.

    • Create rice producer associations.

  • HOW WE HELP

    • Implementation of community irrigated perimeters for rice paddies.

    • Providing quality inputs to produce rice.

    • Training and guidance for producers (rice, onions) on agricultural, transformation, conservation and sale techniques. Training of tutors. 

    • Training in social participation, gender equality, organisational aspects and financial management.

    • Creation of two rice transformation units.

    • Creation of a sales network among women's organisations.

    • Start-up of committees to manage the rice transformation units.

  • WHO IT'S FOR

    Direct beneficiaries: 4,800 producers in the Saint Louis region: agricultural producers and their families, members of the UJAK Union des Jeunes Agriculteurs de Koyli-Wirndé. Young population belonging to different ethnic groups. Between 30% and 40% of the families suffer from food insecurity.

    Indirect beneficiaries: 52,690.
