We support pioneering research into endoscopic surgery

The most advanced surgical practices make it possible to treat patients with minimally invasive techniques.

WIDER-Barcelona Centre (World Institute for Digestive Endoscopy Research in Barcelona)

Thanks to the WIDER-Barcelona Centre and the cooperation of the ”la Caixa” Foundation, the Hospital Vall d’Hebron has become an international benchmark in the field of the most advanced endoscopic surgery, offering patients better quality of life and minimising the risks and consequences of undergoing surgery.

The WIDER-Barcelona Centre is dedicated primarily to the methodology known as natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES), allowing the use of new, minimally invasive endoscopic technologies in surgical practice that avoids incisions and so reduces infection and makes recovery faster and less painful.
