• WHAT WE DO

    The "la Caixa" Volunteer Programme is made up of people who selflessly help out in different social, environmental and cultural causes. They are active or retired employees of the Bank, as well as their relatives and friends, who wish to contribute to this important work in society.

    This corporate volunteer project started in 2005 and currently has over 9,000 volunteers and 39 Regional branches of the "la Caixa" Volunteers Association.

    For all current and retired employees of "la Caixa", as well as their families and friends, who wish to form part of the "la Caixa" Foundation's work by helping out and encouraging volunteering in different activities.

    HOW WE HELP

    The work of the "la Caixa" volunteers is organised via 39 branches throughout Spain. The "la Caixa" Volunteers Association is the central organisation responsible for identifying, prioritising and carrying out actions to help society according to the needs of each local area:

    • Leisure and social programmes for children: sports, cultural and creative activities. Fun excursions for children suffering from poverty, at risk of marginalisation or with a disability.

    • Hospital CiberCaixa: places for learning, communication and fun located in the children's zones of health centres.

    • Fun activities to combat social exclusion: different activities to give a little hope to those at risk of social exclusion and promote their integration in society.

    • Actions for society: campaigns and specific activities to help people in poverty.

    • Actions for social reinsertion: to support different groups of people undergoing difficult situations.

    • Looking after the environment: protecting and maintaining the world around us.

    • International volunteers: we take part directly in international aid projects to advise local NGOs.
